Subject: Yuletide Spiced Coffee

Spread some festive cheer this Christmas with this delicious spiced coffee. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon for an extra special festive treat. A great way to round off Christmas dinner.

Ingredients Serves 8

198g granulated sugar
120ml water
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground cinnamon, plus extra for serving
120ml Amaretto liqueur
150ml double cream, whipped
8 x 8fl oz cups of strong freshly brewed coffee

Method
  1. Add sugar and water to a small saucepan and bring to the boil.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat and add the cinnamon, ginger and allspice. Simmer until the sugar has completely dissolved then remove the pan from the heat.
  3. Brew the cups of coffee and add two tablespoons of the spiced syrup to each cup and stir to mix thoroughly.
  4. Add a tablespoon of Amaretto to each of the cups and top with a generous dollop of whipped cream.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
