A coworker recently came back from India and raved about a sort of sweetened, flavored cream that was served with her coffee. I asked her if it was evaporated milk or cream, and what it was flavored with.
She didn't know, but it was really good.
So I thought I'd throw the question out here: does anyone have knowledge of Indian coffee traditions and perhaps has an idea what folks put in their coffee there?

I believe regular cow's milk isn't the most popular thing there. When I traveled to India, it seems like UHT (ultra high temperature) milks are commonly sold in stores since refrigeration isn't always available. One sweet condensed milk I personally do enjoy using for Vietnamese style iced coffee, Cafe Sua Da, is called "Longevity Brand" Sweetened condensed milk; and something similar might of been used. Another thing to try is brewing with Cardamon and sugar; in a lot of countries where they serve Turkish coffee, it's often brewed with lots of sugar and cardamon.
