I'm wondering what is the most unique, different or otherwise unusual thing you have tried to put coffee in while cooking.
I've had a few thoughts that I haven't tried yet like coating nuts in a coffee infused sugar and I've seen a few things that I've already thought about such as using coffee in rubs or in baked goods (mocha chip cookies anyone?) that I've seen good results.
Anyone used coffee somewhere unexpected that has had an amazing result?
Funny you bring this up. Just the other night I made espresso burgers. I concaved the patties and when they were first put on the skillet, I began to drizzle an Ethiopian on the burger. It took stages to keep it from running everywhere, but it came out nice. Didn't taste like coffee, but it added depth to the meat. It wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped; I think next time I'll add the espresso to the meat, then make the burgers to hopefully give the espresso time to soak in. I didn't do that to begin with as I was worried of what the cooler meat would do to the espresso.
That makese sense, if it works as a rub why not directly.
I wonder if finely ground coffee would work if added directly, it may be too crunchy or if adding some concentrated coffee to the patty when mixing them up would work. Usually I put some ground up saltines, oatmeal or such and onion soup mix to my burgers.

i often use coffee or espresso with worcestershire and seasonings as the liquid for my beef or pork roasts. it is so delicious!!! we also found that we like a stale devils food cake slice with espresso poured over. Then we drizzle dark chocolate syrup that is homemade on top. Great with your evening cuppa whatever.

While not exactly cooking, more sandwhich making, but I love a good peanut butter, coffee bean and honey sandwhich. Crunchy, and the flavor mixes wonderfully.

I can dig it, I can dig it - venison particularly. Now that I'm pretty much a raw foodie (with exception to my morning cap...God forbid!), I can give up my secret. I used to add a couple of fresh pulls of espresso into my chili recipe. No one ever figured it out but they all kinda went crazy for it.
