Ok...I haven't tried this yet, but...from my days in Corporate Coffee, when I was making "blended drinks" by the truckload I seem to remember that our thickening agent always went into the double strength coffee...it needed to be added to a hot ingredient to fully disolve...this was then used as our base. So I am thinking that once I can get my hands on some cara-whatever, I am going to play with the amounts, but definitely add it directly to the hot coffee/espresso and chill overnight...if anyone gets a chance to try this before me, please post results.
