for a 24 ounce drink put about 2 ounces of vanilla syrup on bottom of cup, fill cup about half way with milk (they use whole milk unless otherwise specified by the customer), fill almost to the top with ice, pour 3 shots of espresso in top like an "s", criss cross the top 8 times each way and 2 times around the lip with caramel sauce.  this is the authentic way to make an iced caramel macchiato.  i find that if you substitute hazelnut for the vanilla it gives a really nice roundness.  the hot caramel macchiato is the same except you fill the cup leaving about 2" for foam then "s" in the espresso and add caramel.  unfortunately i think that this drink is a disservice to coffee drinkers everywhere as it is not a true macchiato, but instead a vanilla latte topped with caramel sauce.  when people come in my cafe and ask me for a caramel macchiato, i give them a true caramel macchiato and they are generally pissed.  am i bitter?  LOL.

smiles,

In ours we use 2/3 caramel 1/3 vanilla to flavor. This gives it that "it tastes like caramel...but defferent" taste.

First we put the flavor in the cup.
Steam your milk-make as much foam as you would for a Capp.
Pour in your milk and as much foam as you use in a Capp. Leave about 1/4 inch room from the top.
Mix your flavor with the milk foam mixture-stir strongly to flavor all of the foam.
Pour shots into the middle of the foam so it makes a single spot or "mark"(mochiatto).

If its in a glass pour the espresso very slowly, it'll make a three layer drink.(look at my profile pic)

Okay, now I am jealous!  That drink is my second favorite at SBs, but my all-time-I'll-drive-hours-to-get-it-and-must-have-one-a-day is the Iced Café Mocha (not the frappucino variety, but on ice).  If anyonce can get me the recipe, I will die happy!  (Perhaps of a sugar and caffeine jolt, but who cares!) Thanks a million in advance (I have just moved and there are no SBs in my area -- can you tell?!)

I Have A Really good recipie for an iced carmel macchiato that makes it a little bit sweeter  than starbucks that alot of customers love=]

(Refering to bottles Of Flavoring)
16 oz.carmel macchiato:

5 pumps of vanilla

a few circles of carmel sauce on bottom of cup

fill halfway with milk

and take carmel sauce and make a squiggle like a m all the way along the side of cup (this gives the chunks of carmel you get when you drink)

add 2 shots of cold or hot espresso

add a heaping scoop of ice

add a few more carmel circles

add whipped cream (if desired)

And Add carmel sauce on top (if desired)
