OK, so in the course of this thread we have managed to stereotype welfare recipients, tea party members, gun owners, rural dwellers, urban dwellers, and women. That may be a new record for the CoffeeGeek forums. :-D

It must have been a conspiracy from the start. Six stereotypes fits perfectly with six Californias. The poor gun owners of California deserve their own state, though. Perhaps we can start a White House petition to them out - as the only gun owner from California I know of and in honor of our own CG member, we could call it Waynsylvania. Wayne P. for Governor. The other five states can live in gun-free zones, which have been demonstrated to be much safer. The burglars, gang-bangers, and the like are sure to stay away because it is a rule afterall.

I think that would be considered faux pas. Just because we have the right to free speech, it does not give you the right to think, act, or say things that go against the newest idea political correctness. How dare you.

Not familiar with fair use of pictures, yada, yada - here is the link.

That certainly seems to be the case. Unfortunately, this attitude does little for their respective causes but further separate them from everyone else. I fear the days of argument for the sake of educating oneself or to understand a different stance are long gone. Instead, we'll make things un-PC and make everyone suffer.

The very implementation of "Political Correctness" by its users shows extreme bigotry toward people whose views they disagree with.  A good read on it's origins can be found by reading "Liberal Fascism" by Jonah Goldberg:

Coinciding with the issue of "Political Correctness" are other mechanisms used to manipulate the masses:

Delphi Techique:

Of course the oldie but goodie Saul Alinsky's 12 Rules for Radicals:

To be fair, there is bigotry on all sides in some form or another. I think that the use of PC is often just a guise to push back against those with differing views, thereby drawing attention away from themselves. Of course, there remains some level of appropriate political correctness in society, but really it all boils down to person principle than anything else. The problem comes when the notion of political correctness grows to such a level as to push one's own morals/beliefs on the rest of the country. We don't have to like what others say, but there is no question that they do have a right to say it, no matter how bigoted, racist, prejudice, or whatever other descriptor you want to add. Another problem, especially with my (sad to say) generation is that they're completely uneducated and worse, interested, in politics. It's not my favorite topic, but unfortunately, is required reading since what the government does affects all of us and can only be countered by voting. Too many in the young generation tout party lines (whichever side they may fall under) without having a clue about what it really means.

Thanks for the links, I'll have to check them out.
