Hi CGers. I'm going to traveling to Puerto Rico for a couple of weeks this month and would love any recommendations on cafes and restauraunts in San Juan that have a reputation for excellent espresso. I'll be Googling about it myself of course but recommendations are always good too.

I went to Cuatro Sombras in Old San Juan a few times. They roast their coffee in-house. I didn't try any straight espresso, however, the lattes I had were quite good (as well as the pastries). There was also a coffee shop just past the park on Ashford Ave in the Condado area, but I can't quite remember the name. I had a good americano there, but didn't get a chance to make it back a second time.

I don't know if you went already. I like Cafe Cola'o in San Juan. I have been to Cuatro Sombras, and wasn't impressed, but it may have been a one-time thing. Caficultura in San Juan looks good, but admittedly I haven't been. Barista in Hato Rey has a good reputation, but I wasn't overly impressed there either.
