Spent the day thinking about going home to pull a shot... I finally have the Black Cat dialed in. I'm getting the hang of my new bottomless pf.

Pulled the first one last night while making dinner.

Hmmm. That looks pretty good. Timed out well. Good color, correct flow. Tastes pretty good. My 10-yo standing there reminding me that the doctor told me to drink less coffee. So....

Shoot.

Well.

That's it.

I guess I'm done until tomorrow....

You might put your 10-year-old's concerns away by quoting the recommendation of the Deutsche Grüne Kreuz: "Drinking two, three, four or even more cups of coffee per day has positive effects on numerous internal organs and body functions. There even seems to be a protective or preventative effect in some diseases. In in most cases, there is no reason to stop drinking coffee for medical considerations." ;-)

Yes i have a reason for leaving SCG off my list, yes it is my opinion, yes it is subjective as opinions are by definition, no don't start a flame war because you disagree.

LOL. If I got down to 3 or 4 cups a day, my doctor would do a little GERD dance!!! We were discussing it, and she made it sound like... well, obviously, if you don't want to feel that way anymore, then cut back.

Like:

PATIENT: Doctor, doctor. It hurts when I go like this.

DOCTOR: Stop going like that.

Come on man! After spending the whole day thinking about grinder adjustments, WDTs, tamping, temperature surfing, bottomless-portafilter-cone-collapses, early blonding, etc... to just have it... work...

Now what?

Holy cow.  Can I tell you? I made up for it today - BIG TIME.  Change in the weather.  Had to change the grinder.  THREE sinkers!

LOL. Concentrate on the "even more" part of the recommendation! What's the feeling, your doctor is referring to? A lot of practitioners still cling to the outdated notion that coffee is bad for your blood pressure and whatnot.

It's a bad idea in general to give medical advice on the internet.
It's even worse when you don't know what GERD is and you're trying to question a doctor's advice...

Gastroesophageal reflux disease. If you took a look at my profile, you'd have know I'm a physician.
