I used to drink coffee as soon as I get up in the morning. Recently I have watched a TV programme in which it was told that, to stay fit drink one liter of water after you wake up. I wonder, how can a person drink that much of water in the morning. But, since it was a Yoga instructor programme they give that sort of advices only! Horrifying advices rather I say. So, my question is, what should I follow as my daily routing? one liter of water or a cup of hot coffee?

Speaking from experience, I've tried drinking 1L of water in the morning right after waking up and it's awful. I tried it with a bit of lemon and honey. I tried it cold, warm, and room temperature. I tried it gulping it down right out of bed and I tried having several glasses while I cooked breakfast. I think I made it about a week before I reverted to my old habits:
1 glass of milk with breakfast 1-2 Cappuccinos, or an entire French Press while I write
I know that was meant to be funny. I took a non-fasting blood test earlier this year and was asked if I had anything to eat or drink that day. Mind you, it's hard enough to find my veins when I'm properly hydrated. I said, "Just coffee." The vampire responded, "Awww, don't do that before a blood test, it constricts your veins." But I had to wake up to find this new lab so early.
I've tried in the past to start the day with 1L of water. I end up having to go to the bathroom every hour all day. Not for everyone. Who says YMMV? I agree.
