Sitting, right now, in the back of my car, is the box I received here at work containing an NS Ellimatic I bought from the BST forums. I am at work for another 5 hours. I have a community meeting I'm obligated to attend tonight at 7 pm. If I'm lucky and the freeway gods are appeased, I'm home between 5:30 and 6 pm, which does not leave enough time to set it up, fire it up, make sure everything works, and pull a preliminary shot or two to test before I have to be back out the door. And a double or two at 10 pm is not a wise move.
Is it so wrong that I'm eyeing the door and considering an early exit today?

"Coffee leads men to trifle away their time, scald their chops, and spend their money, all for a little base, black, thick, nasty, bitter, stinking nauseous puddle water." ~The Women's Petition Against Coffee, 1674
It is the predecessor to the Oscar, and my first non-lever machine (Hmmmm, first an early '60s Caravel, then a mid-late '80s Ellimatic - maybe by 2025 I'll have one o' them new-fangled E61 machines).
Unfortunately, the back and left side panels got munched in transit (known issue with the Ellimatic when not packed quite properly), so it's not pretty. At least the back will be facing the wall, and I can do some Plastic Weld repairs for the moment.
Fortunately, I've found replacement panels, so it'll be pretty once again, eventually.
The only grinder I've got here is my old Dienes Moka to use with the Zerowatt/Caravel Ursula, and some of SM's Origen Positivo Espresso blend (but not enough for dialing in a new machine), otherwise, I'd be doing that.
