Hi All,

Brand new to Coffee Geek! Been drinking crappy coffee for about 13 years. Started fixing that a year or two ago by buying an Aeropress. Then buying better beans. Then recently getting into home roasting. Next up, espresso...  Looking to buy a vintage lever pull machine.

Random bits and pieces of me....

Big fan of antiques, fountain pens, wet shaving and photography. I adopted a little boy a few years ago, and I love dogs. Im a tech guy that recently moved from sunny south florida to the mountains of georgia! Culture Shock. But I love it.

Hope to learn lots from 'y'all ;-)

Cheers-

Matt

Hi All,

My name is Joep and I'm from the Netherlands. I have been reading reviews and topics on CG for quite some time now. It started 2 years ago when I bought a cheap Delonghi Semi automatic. I exchanged that for a Saeco Vienna but soon I regretted it. I really missed the 'hobby' aspect. So I found myself a really nice deal on an Ascaso Dream and I'm really glad I can hobby again.

Of course, this being my first more serious machine, I have a challenge getting a good shot so I felt it is time to sign up here and start posting and reading (more).

Greetings from the Pacific Northwest:

I found this Forum and wanted to say HI!!  Since I am in the process of upgrading my home brewing station all the info gained from reading through this Forum is pretty useful.  Thanks for the tips and tricks in brewing good coffee.

I have been making espresso since the late 70's.  I asked my step-mother, who is Italian and lives in Italy and whose family has owned the same home for 600 years, how she picks beans to brew.  Her answer was to chew the bean, if it leaves a good taste in your mouth then buy them.

It amazes people when you are somewhere out in the sticks and you drag out a backpack stove, a stove top espresso machine and a hand grinder...  The setup fits into a Mini Cooper nicely :-)

Now looking at the roasting part of brewing coffee; does it ever end!

Stephen

Hello KonaHB here...

I like coffee and I have great online coffee shop, but never have time to manage and optimize the shop. Maybe I can find great info about coffee here.

Thanks

Hello to all Coffee Geeks! My name is Shari. My husband Blair and I own a Coffee House / Tea House in Pawleys Island, SC. We are very dedicated to our little Mom and Pop shop and appreciate all the expertise we have read online here at Coffeegeek.com. I have a question about a new espresso machine we just purchased. It is older but in pristine condition! I think it is a VFA Elite from Barcelona. It is Beeaauutiful! I am attaching a picture if I can figure out how. We are in the process of hooking it up today and could really use your advice!

Thanks

Hello, I'm a coffee lover and I come here looking for help!  I have an Ascaso Arc espresso machine and I've very foolishly taken the power on/off switch out to replace it and now don't see my markings on which order the three wires reattach! Help!  A picture would really help if anyone has one, thanks... :(

Exploring my coffee world options. Have french presses and moka pots. Branching out in to the espresso machine world, though slowly. I have a lot to learn about pulling espresso. Love any good roast burr ground at home or a good espresso out.

Hello I am new to CG and loving it. I have been visiting for a long time but never joined as I have never joined a forum or posted much online. Now that I have gone through my 1st upgrade I have become obsessed with learning about espresso and coffee in general. I look forward to chatting with everyone and learning from all the CGs:)

Hey, I'm new here (obviously).

Currently in the process of upgrading from a DeLonghi ECO310 and Krups GVX2 to a Rancilio Silvia and Mahlkonig (Baratza) Vario.

I live coffee (and, at the moment, 2nd year Undergrad Electrical Engineering exams), but I'm going to need to get some help on here when Miss Silvia arrives!!
