Hi All you coffeegeeks out there, I have joined your community and hope to stay long. Recently I have been hooked to coffee and am worrying whether I am already a coffee addict or what?! Does coffee really harm our health, or is it bad for our sleep pattern - any one knows then tell me, am curious.

Your Normal Coffee can be very harmful, longterm over the years to your body. I drink a different type of coffee, however. I got it from the internet, and I really have noticed changes in my body. Try to find coffee that doesn't cost much, and won't make you obese!!

My answer is that Coffee is not particularly bad for your health, and not particularly good for your sleep pattern.

I just read a few books on coffee and one specifically talked about caffeine and coffee and its nature to our health.
Basically, each person has their own caffeine levels that are "acceptable". Most people don't drink past what they should because their body automatically kind of makes you 'not want' coffee any more when you've reached your body's level. Some people, however, ignore this and start 'forcing' (I use that word loosely) themselves to drink more. Then and only then does it become a problem.
The author made a very interesting point. They (whoever 'they' are) have been trying to prove caffeine to be harmful for decades and to this day there is really no good direct evidence that its harmful enough to worry about.
All that being said, also consider that "good coffee" (e.g. arabica beans, not robusta) has much less caffeine content (about 50% as a rule of thumb). Stick with good coffee (e.g. NOT supermarket coffee) and you'll consume even less caffeine and have even less to worry about (and be able to drink twice the joe for the same caffeine content).

Bought a new press pot yesterday, two of them actually, one for the office. I had to try some and made it a little strong. Went to bed instead of 10 pm at 11:30, after laying there about 45 minutes got up and played on the computer. Finally back to bed at 2:30 am. Hint, don't buy a new machine, late in the afternoon. HA

Now that is really something new and annoying that drinking coffee can make u obese? and ugly too? is that the other changes in the body you are referring to?
The annoying thing is false claims made for the purpose of stealth marketing. Coffee does NOT make you obese, or ugly. These are rediculous assertions (IMO).
In fact, coffee is the original diet drug! It has no fat, supresses appetite, and delivers a little caffiene. If you're really serious about your health, drink an extra cup of water (or two) for every cup of coffee.

Nate you're clearly in marketing and more so in the coffee business... (and please consider not letting that influence your posts)
But you won't convince me that coffee is bad for me and even more so that you have some 'different' kind of coffee that is good for me. Maybe you do (in all fairness I've not tried your product) but frankly coffee is coffee.
In fact its been documented that a cup or two a day offers some very good health benefits. Moderation is key with anything we consume.
