This board has several latte art threads with fantastic photos. What about those among us who have yet to master this art? I propose this thread for your favorite coffee / espresso-related photo. Below are my suggested submission rules:
Required:
Only one submission per member. The submission must be the member's original photo
Each post must be retitled to an appropriate description of the photo. See my example post below
Please, no latte art (with an exception for those that are clearly more than "top of the bowl" shots)
Optional:
Description of scene
Time / date / place
Technique employed
Pithy or humorous commentary.
If we get some particularly good entries, maybe a vote in an upcoming poll? Let's see how it goes...
-- Dan

I took this photo at Café Marly in the Louvre while visiting Paris with my oldest son. We had just come from a toy store near Rue Rivoli where we purchased the car shown below. Sadly, he lost it a few days later. I setup this composition on the spur of the moment. There are a lot of unplanned but interesting reflections. I especially like the tourist caught mid-stride in the background. The espresso was so-so but the gâteau moelleux (not shown) was fabulous.

I "almost" took that photo by myself...I was at Vivace, Seattle, taking a picture of the rosetta on my cappuccino, when a sweet - about 4year old - kid came from the neighbour table and asked me what I'm doing here. I showed him the rosetta, and then the display of my digicam with the new photo of it. He laughed and wanted to take a picture with my camera, so I held it in front of him, the other way around, and showed him the little button and - *flash* - he just pressed it before I finished my sentence :-D I think at that moment I said "can you see me?" Hello? Surely there are some talented (or lucky) photographers among us?
Thomas - cool lighting near the roaster's arm and nice framing. Really has a "mood" to it that I like. Funny, at first glance I searched aimlessly for the subject since there was no readily available frame of reference. Interesting how some photos make you work to understand them.
Joey - thanks for sending me the picture of your surprise photographer offline, I've attached it below. Reminds me of something my kids would do. :-)
It goes almost without saying that our photographically talented CoffeeKid would only have to decide among hundreds of memorable images... right Mark (hint, hint)? The entries so far are great, bring 'em on!

I don't have very many coffee related photos, but I took this one just this morning to get a pic of my new Illy cups. I realized too late that the chessboard was in the way, so I just put the coffee down right on the board.

I love this machine...Athena designed by and assembled in house at Coal Creek Coffee in Laramie, WY.
The Eagle on top is accented by nesting perches for hot drawing water, steaming milk (2 perches) and pulling shots (3 E-61 groups). Shot this last year on my first visit.
Tom (shown) and other baristi in this place know what they are doing.
Sorry the machine is so shiny (makes it hard to make out details). I really need to go back at a time they are not so busy and get a better hi rez shot. That is really hard to do, since they are so popular.
Latest adventure included attending a great Chris Proctor acoustic guitar concert there.
