Look, I think it's cute. I am happy for you, doing well in high school debate club. That still doesn't mean you have any information to add here. You love throwing your answers from Forensics pop quizzes, but there's a dearth of information.
You're still teenagers, though, and I'm sorry that makes you mad. It is relevant, since you don't seem to know much about this topic. I'm twice your age, and that doesn't automatically mean anything, except that in this case, I've been acquiring information on politics for about as long as you've been alive. That is relevant.
Now, again, it's cute that you're on your team and doing well at nationals and you know some big words from ancient Greece. But as of yet, you haven't taught me anything other than you don't like my style. I'm not in your debate club, kids. You are very much in touch with that world, and it's cool and all. What you fail to do, though, is show me that you know jack shit about the topics being discussed. Since that is lacking, you and your friend have decided to tag team me. It's kind of cute, and I hope you bond over it! ;-)

What you have yet to do is engage in a debate with me. All you and your girl have done is tell me that you don't like me and take issue with the reality that your age is relevant.
It's all good, though. I think it's cute that in your young minds, being on a debate team gives you license to pontificate against those whose style you dislike, but whose information outweighs yours.

Doug, even though I agree with many of your arguments and discussions on CG (not in this thread, but in some of the political debates), I'm going to ask you once to tune down the personal stuff. I do not want to see any more comments based on age, or condescending talk; both the under-twenty participants in this thread show a helluva lot more reason and calm discourse than other posts in the thread, and that's saying something. I'm going to treat condescending talk the same as any other personal attack, if I see it from now on.
I've reviewed the thread a few times, and there's too many times where the lines were crossed from attacking the idea to attacking the poster. In personal discussions, this simply isn't allowed. Why don't we all go over to the Versalab thread and bitch at them some more instead ;)
