Near the Lansing Mall is a fairly new coffee shop called Brewster's Beanery.  I have been going there off and on for some time and today one of the Barista's named Jason made a double ristretto machiatto.  It was the best espresso based drink I have ever tasted.  I would even put it above Intelligentsia.

They use organic beans and still make drinks by hand (no super-automatics here).

Most of the Barista's are good, some are OK, but Jason is passionate and  makes some mean drinks.  I had a double short latte along with the machiatto and both were extraordinary.

In the land of Beaner's (Biggby), Tim Horton's, and *$'s, Brewster's is a welcome change'

I went out on a coffee bar hopping run and made it out here to check out Brewster's but it looks like they closed their doors :(. I did find a place close by that was local and bought beans from The Coffee Barrel on Jolly Rd that wasn't half bad. Though, still had the gallon of milk in a large pitcher that they warmed up for every new drink....
