Has anyone else caught this deal at Intelligentsia.  I was looking at the website a couple weeks ago and ordered this right away.  Three pounds of coffee a month for twelve months for $350 with shipping included after the first order.  The first shipment comes with a french press, a scoop, grind samples, and a binder with alot of good info.  Just got the coffee today.  I am pumped.  Of course I still support my great local shops.

I know I sound like an advert, but this is awesome.

What does everybody else think?

Wow.  That's really a pretty sweet deal and you know you can't go wrong with Intelly.

Ecco Cafe has a more expensive, but espresso-centric club click here.

These kind of packages (since there are no local roasters where I live) make me wonder about the $100 I just dropped to repair my Gene Cafe.

Intriguing.

How fast do you go through your coffee? I would be afraid to buy three pounds at a time because by the time I would get to the third bag, it would be over three weeks old. Plus, I don't think I can afford to drop 350 bucks all at one time!

Intervention
Not fast enough.  I need somebody else to take at least one pound off me.  This month we gave one pound to a friend.  We'll just keep doing that or find another local geek to buy a pound from us every month.
It would be great if you had somebody to go in with you.

This month the shipping that was covered by Intelligentsia was over $18.  I don't know how they do it!  It's a losing deal for them, but a great deal for us.

It does sound like a great deal.  I sure have enjoyed my black cat.

How do you manage 3 lbs. for the month and keep a fresh bean all month.  I could make it for 3 plus weeks plus on the 3 lbs.  Could you freeze some, what else could you do?

I talked to a rep on the phoen when i had a Crate & Barrel gift card and she said they ordered the stuff in last year and had no plans for reorder.. this was earlier this year though.. The coffee could be a year old..

I would leave in on the shelf and order from intelly direct rather than waste my money

Too bad it's not 3 lbs. a month, but only one a week, or something to that effect. I would just have a hard time keeping good coffee like that fresh.
