Subject: wanting to buy a good turkish coffee pot

im really starting to get into specialty coffee and after recently trying Turkish coffee im hooked. im looking for a high quality hand hammered pot to use but have been having trouble finding one. i have really looked into the soy
c3g pots ( Click Here (www.specialtyturkishcoffee.com) )that are handcrafted from turkey and was very impressed. unfortunately i have had a very hard time finding them in the united states, nobody has any. if anyone has any hand hammered used Turkish coffee pots, or newpots, or has a c3g or a c2g by soy i would be very interested. Any help in finding something would be very much appreciated.
-Thanks

that looks like a great site, how do you think those ibriks would compare to the Click Here (www.specialtyturkishcoffee.com) in quality?

Hey Colby!,

I saw a friend request on FB from you about 50 minutes ago, but I didn't realize that it was you here on the coffeegeek forums too. {;-)

I was signed out, but before I shut the computer off for the night I clicked on your Coffeegeek handle/name to see who you were. Then I saw right away that it was one in the same person, so I'm sorry about not seeing that & getting back to you quicker than I should!

Don't know which one you're referring to as a 'great site', but I'd say that the quality of the Ibriks from both places is less that the Speciality Turkish Coffee's C2G & C3G ones. Those are 1 mm thick copper & silver plated inside, not tinned/plated with tin like the others.

This Etsy seller appears to have a few of the higher quality pots:

I do not know or have any affiliation with the seller.  But, I just purchased a C3G and will let you know my opinion of the quality in several weeks once this arrives.

Congrats on Falling in love with Turkish coffee.  I enjoy 1 to 2 a night myself.  My wife (the Turk) she will do it on the stove.  I like to use my Arcelik Turkish coffee maker machine when she isnt around.  Works perfect every time.  Side note: Most Turks drink Mehmet Efendi, and I cant say I've ever tried any other kind. (tangent I know).  What are you drinking up there in NY?

I have the older version of this one (grey). Click here
