Has the machine been sent to Breville recently ? That's what bugs me about this machine is that you have to send it away to descale it

No! It works perfect and has only had 1 cleaning cycle request.

Not exactly.  Breville recommends this every 5 years because they don't want owners opening up the machine, but there is no reason you can't do this on your own when the time comes.  In 4 years I'll make a video of me doing it, and you can follow those instructions.  If water can get into a boiler, it can be descaled and drained.  My QM Alexia didn't have a drain, and I was able to descale it quite easily.  My Vetrano was an HX, so I descaled the HX only. Didn't own it long enough to need to descale the boiler.  My Cimbali Junior that was run on a filtration system had hardly any scale to speak of when I pulled out the heating element just to get a look inside, and that was when it turned 5 years old!

If you need to descale often, you need to use better water.

Hello!  I've been researching machines (considering upgrading from my old Starbucks Barista single boiler) and the BDB seems to be a really good value. It has a lot of the features I would like to have.  Would you mind telling me the reason you're getting rid of yours?  Would you recommend it to someone else?  Why/Why not?

Thanks for posting!

-Brad

I thought I would really get into espresso.. And I did for a few months. For the last seven months I have not used it at all. I have come to the conclusion that I prefer my fresh roasted Kona beans dripped or FP'd.
And it just sits on the countertop.
I love the way it works and after some training I make some of the best espresso I have ever had with it.

Still for sale? I'm interested. Would you ship to Canada?  Also-is it still under warranty and do you have proof of purchase?

Sorry I missed your post! Sure I'll ship to the North. I am guessing you know about shipping costs to CA right? As long as your are good with it, I am. Still under warranty with proof of purchase. I'm thinking you don't want to ship the Capa cups and saucers?
