Update: Labor day bump and changed shipping (I'll now cover half). Some nibbles and some people who didn't reply to me. Still for sale.
Begrudgingly selling my Kone Brewing System and V3 Kone. I've used it 5-10 times. Maybe a couple more. Can't recall -- I've only been in town with it for a few weeks as I've had lots of travel, so it can't be that many.
I like the system. I ordered because I had yet to try a version of the kone, which I like. I also ordered because I'm a sucker for nice ceramic, which this is. It's a piece that stays out on the counter/table. I quite enjoy it. But the reality of my life right now, as someone who recently got married and paid for the wedding, is that I could use the money and can accomplish that by selling things I have duplicates of (like coffee equipment). If I can get what I feel is fair (Read: I won't give it away) I should sell so my bank account is less hungry.
Other general comments: I've also used it a few times to make a pot of tea (place filter in teapot section for steeping, remove and serve when done steeping). Nice. The ceramic is surprisingly and awesomely light. It's sturdy but not heavy. I've heard friends who ordered remark similarly about how pleasantly and surprisingly light the ceramic is. Unsure if this matters for heat retention -- the coffee never stays in long enough for me to test it. I will say it stays warmer for noticeably longer than a chemex (unsurprising).
Here's the product page (I'm having all sorts of tech issues right now, but would be happy to snap pictures): Click Here (ablebrewing.com)
Condition: new except for 1 defect in what was shipped to me. There is a small red/orange splotch on the INSIDE of the teapot part. it is small and only noticeable when no contents and you're, for whatever reason, looking at the inside. I thought about having it replaced due to this accident in glazing, but honestly, it doesn't matter. Works great, parts fit together nicely. Does exactly what you expect.
Price: $125 is what the kickstarter charged for the KBS + Kone (Retails for $160 now). That's what I'll ask, with buyer covering half of insured shipping. Shipping from 22303 via USPS insured. Unless you want it very quickly, standard postage will probably run 10-20 with insurance would be my guess, but don't quote me on that. If in DC metro, we can arrange an in-person swap.
Please note: this is for the brewer (ceramic) AND Kone (metal filter). At this time I am not willing to split them up.
