Subject: SOLD FS:  Mazzer Super Jolly Automatic  - SOLD But Not Here!!!

EDIT:  Trying to Sell here has been a less than fun.

1.First I get emails from Newbies with TONS of questions:  They do NOT BOTHER to read the post - have the answers are in the listing; They have no clue what this item is - "How big is it?" ; They have not done a lick of effort trying to find out about a Mazzer SJ.  Last but not least:  NOT ONE NEWBIE HAS THE COURTESY to even thank me for my long detailed answers to their stupid questions.

  1.  Second, my post here then got pulled while the mods debated rules.  No hard feelings there, they are doing their job. SO, i repost here with all the photos.  Luckily, its also listed on Ebay but thought i wouild give a discount to fellow kind heart-ed CGers.  WRONG...

  2.   One newbie desperately wants to buy it and after five emails wanting to send money, then says:  "isn't this too big big for me?"

  3.  Then I get email from an alleged CGer who wants to buy and item allegedly sells.  We use Paypal. Invoice sent.  Paypay says the payment is QUESTIONABLE, HOLDS the transaction indefinitely for MY PROTECTION and tells me NOT to ship until I get Paypal's authorization in writing.  I wait and wait.  Nothing happens.  I contact Paypal.  They tell me due to privacy reason they cannot tell me the issue for the Security Review BUT DO NOT SHIP.

  4.  Grinder was also listed for MORE $$ on Ebay.  While I wait for Paypal, item sells for full price on Ebay, instant payment from a reputable micro roaster and payment clears Paypal instantly.  Item shipped.

I am selling one of my two Mazzer Super Jolly espresso grinders. After our kitchen remodel, wife says she wants counter top space back. So, one of our Mazzer's need to go.

The MODS have approved this post.

Mazzer Super Jolly Automatic.  The grinder can be used in Automatic mode or simply turned on and off manually.  In Automatic mode, it will automatically grind coffee after every 6 dozes.  In manual mode, simply turn on the grinder on for as long as you like and turn off.

This Mazzer was part of a pair of grinders purchased by friends in 2007 along with two very expensive Conti espresso machines.  The grinder is rebaged CONTI, just like Mazzer does for Astoria and others.

The grinder was first used in 2007 for 1.5 years.  Then I bought it.   This Super Jolly was the "decaf" grinder for our friends and us. I am very sure it only has ground 70 pounds of coffee.  This "special automatic" version of the Super Jolly has a very cool dossing counter on the side.  It counts each does and shows 4200 doses. At 7 grams each,  comes to about 70 pounds.

Needless to say, the grinder is like new.  The bean hopper and lids were purchased in 2012 after I lost the originals during the kitchen remodel.  There were a couple of very small scratches on the body and they have been touched up with official Mazzer factory matching paint (Mazzer used the same metallic silver paint BMW uses on its wheels).

It has been cleaned monthly and just disassembled, cleaned and checked. Only food grade silicone grease was used where appropriate. Even all the screws have soaked in Calfiza and cleaned.  The insides are pristine: motor, switch and Lovato contactor.  Swiss wiring is perfect.   The burrs look new and will still cut a fingernail with ease.  Mazzer burrs last 1000 pounds (400kgs), and these have had only 70 pounds.  These burrs are now just broken in and seasoned.

The Automatic version does the following:  1.  micro-switch in the dosser that turns on the grinder every 6 doses, (1) micro-switch in the dosser that turns it off when doser hopper is full (3) dosing counter that is re-setable (4) special on/off switch that permits you use the Mazzer in Auto or full Manual mode.

It will be carefully double boxed and packed.  We will only charge actual shipping costs.  The EU required stainless steel guard for inside the hopper was removed but will be included with the unit.

OK - I realize that this is NOT a screaming deal.  First, its NOT a fixer upper, its NOT a semi-worn out beater from a high vol coffee shop.  It needs NOTHING for many years of perfect service.  I paid a lot more than this and the machine is cleaner and nicer than when I bought it.  I will be the first to admit that what I paid is not relevant, I knew I was buying a machine that was never abused.

Can the Automatic Features be turned off.  Yes, there are many threads here and on HB describing how.  I am happy to do it for you if you wish.

The hopper and top are new from 2012 - lost the old one in the kitchen remodel.  No cracks or scratches.  Dosser top is new as well.

Listed on EBay at $495.  Listed here for $450.  Payment by Paypal or check.  Local Pickup in greater Denver would be great.  I will pay for packing.  Shipping at BUYERS COST by Fedex Ground or your carrier.  I hate UPS but you can use them if YOU wish.

Please let me know if you any questions.   I have lots of hi rez photos.

I will post a link to hi rez photos in a following post.

Packing: Seller will provide double boxing
Shipping: Buyer's Cost - Fedex at my discounted rates or happy to use your carrier/account.
Shipping to US.  Will consider Canada if you understand duties may apply.  I have shipped vintage audio equipment many times

I have been asked about removing the automatic switch.  I would be happy to do the removal and send the micros switch so you can reinstall if you like - takes 5 minutes.

YMMV, just my experience.

I used to use Paypal years ago for Ebay stuff. Sometimes Paypal would just randomly block me from removing money from my account, prevent transfers when I would buy things, larger money transfers would sometimes get rejected, etc.

When Paypal works, it works. When it doesn't, good lord...you thought dealing with your bank was bad.

My experience with Paypal has been good of the last few years - I would rather it questions a good transaction than permit a fraud. Paypal has gotten so much better after it was purchased by Ebay several years ago.  And, as my experience here bears out,  Paypal is not a bad way to sell if you want transparency of knowing exactly you are selling to and his/her reputation.

What I realized here is that when you get a private email through CG, you have no idea if its a valid "real" CGer or a clueless newbie or someone looking to scam.
