Time to upgrade!

I'm selling my Saeco Via Venezia that is 4 months old. I bought it new in mid January from SCG for $299. I recently descaled it but, frankly, it didn't need it since I keep it super clean. My cleaning regiment is as follows: after a shot is pulled, I flush the group with water for a second. Then scrub the group with a Pallo brush, run a bit more water and wipe down with a sponge that is dedicated to this purpose only (ie no soap is even on it), then wipe dry with a towel dedicated to this purpose. The screen looks new (well, it practically is). It is a great little machine for someone new to home espresso, or someone who wants a quality machine without fuss (since it is pod adaptable and has a pressurized portafilter). Comes will all original accessories, and kept the Styrofoam for secure packaging and shipping. I know to ship a machine and empty the boiler, etc...

I think it's an excellent SBDU machine. You will need to temperature surf, but that's also true for all machines in this class. It is made with high-quality parts and the steaming is excellent. I did a ton of research before I bought this and have been very happy (I stayed away from Gaggia since they have terrible customer service). Obviously, I have had zero problems since I've had the machine for less than 4 months, but I intended to keep it for a few years and wanted the piece of mind that I could easily service it.

I started with a Baratza Encore and upgraded to a Grinta and now have the beastly OE Pharos (with Voodoodaddy mods ;-P). I have a vintage lever machine coming in the mail so I gotta sell this machine. It's been a fun ride and now it's time to pass it to the next budding espresso enthusiast or someone looking for a second machine for work or back-up.

Original items included:

1 - Saeco Via Venezia machine
1 - plastic panarello steam wand (like-new, used for one month)
1 - pressurized portafilter (like-new, used for one week)
1 - double basket
1 - single basket (new never used)
1- pod basket (new never used)
1 - plastic 14g scoop (new never used--I like using my Aeropress scoop)

Extra goodies included:

1 - bag of Cafe Grumpy's Heartbreaker espresso blend.

Yummmmyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! I live a block away from their Greenpoint roastery/cafe so I will buy some on the day they roast, a Monday, and ship everything the same day to guarantee the coffee arrives fresh! This is a $16 dollar value added to sweeten the deal and for you to enjoy =)

1 - single hole steam wand.

I replaced the panarello steam wand with a stainless steal single-hole tip wand. This allows for perfect microfoam with proper technique. I pour my lovely gf a latte with a heart every morning =) I will re-install the panarello if the buyer prefers. The steam wand was hard to find for me and I bought it from Australia for about $20.

1 - bottomless portafilter.

I bought this from SCG for $65 bucks when it was hard to find. Now, it seems they keep them in stock regularly. This didn't use to be the case. It is cleaned after every use so it looks good as new.

1 - 53mm rosewood tamper.

I bought this on Ebay for $35 bucks so I don't know if it is really rosewood. It looks nice, feels great in the hand, and has plenty of heft.

1 - Red Concept-art knockbox

I bought this from SCG for $25 bucks. Love the fact that the bar is easily removable--makes it easy to clean!

1 - Ikea milk steaming pitcher, 17 oz

This little guy is $6 bucks at Ikea, but was a PITA for me to get...oh man, getting to Ikea in brooklyn is like going on a safari...just for that little pitcher.

1 - baggie of Cafiza descaling solution.

I will include one packet of descaling solution to get you started. You will not need to descale for 2-4 months since I just did it 3 weeks ago. So, I just include one packet to have handy =)

Most of the main things are pictured below, but email me for more HD pics!

....

Altogether, this cost me $466.
As a grad student, I needed to buy it slowly (and take up extra job tutoring).
I am asking for 50% of the new price of all of it, or $233.
I will split the actual shipping costs with the buyer.
The price is firm
, as any lower and I'd rather ship it to my parents
who would probably use the pressurized PF and sell the bottomless separately.
Sorry not interested in selling the items separately.

As I usually like to do, I will post this first on CG for a week or so and then post it on CL and Ebay.

Buy with confidence -- this machine comes from a well-loved home =)

Thanks for looking.

I'll be happy to add the steaming pitcher for free if interested.

I can't believe how good this little machine is when paired with a serious grinder (and knowledge of temperature surfing). I've had my Pharos+VDD mods for a week and pulled about 40 shots and the quality is pretty nuts. Now that it's dialed in, I'm pulling better shots of Grumpy's Ethipian Yukro than the new barista there (okay, their seasoned baristas+their synesso+robur will kick my behind). I should take a picture of how beautiful the shots turn-out. I made an iced latte (local, organic whole milk) that kicks the ass out of 99% of cafes out there. The strawberries and honey shine through making the latte like an icecream sunday =)

I know I'm pimping my machine, but barista skills+titan quality grinder+VV=serious espresso drinks =)

Made a video of a quick shot before running out to give my students a final exam.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVJQ4mMMsTs

Not the best: spilled the grinds all over the counter, forgot to wdt (since I made a mess), and tamp was a bit light. I was aiming for 1oz in 30 sec--instead I got 1.5oz in 30 sec. It's an iphone video, maybe I'll try to make a better one later with my cannon.
