I bought this to get started in the world of manual levers. Now I have a Cremina. This guy is functionally in good condition. Heats up as it should, no scale, new gaskets and seals in the group head. Its downfall is its cosmetics. The base has some rust in the drip tray area (I'd recommend buying the plastic drip tray or just being careful when using a bowl to catch drips) and underneath. The rust underneath has been stabilized with a spray-on product, but there are some spots that are starting to come back. I'd recommend removing the base, cleaning all the rust using a wire brush or sand blast, and either powdercoating (a good place should be able to do it for about $50 including sand blasting. shop around) or painting with a rust inhibiting spray. The rust hasn't gone very deep, so you shouldn't have to worry about holes forming in the base. The chrome has some patina that isn't unattractive, but the back side of the boiler looks like someone tried cleaning it with something that ate through the chrome. Luckily it is just on the back. This would be a nice machine for someone wanting to get into levers on a budget and maybe have a little project to work on. It will run from day one, but the rust really should be addressed at some point. Included is one portafilter and one double basket. Buyer pays shipping.
Also, I have a second double basket that I will include for an additional $10 or sell separately for $20 (+ shipping).
