For sale is an Alex Duetto II purchased from Chris Coffee on March of 2010.
Item located in the Upper East Side of NY, and is for sale for pickup only. No boxes are available.
The Alex Duetto II was used 2x/day from Mar'10 to Sept'10, when I switched completely over to decaf. Ever since, it has been used on average less than 1x/wk (as in some weeks 2x/wk, most weeks not at all). My regular coffee consumption has changed over to cafes.
I have been procrastinating on selling this purely because of my emotional attachment - the Duetto II was there for me during some rough terms in college, and is so elegantly designed that I kept rationalizing on keeping it. After years of delay, I have finally come to terms that it would be better utilized by someone else.
The Alex Duetto II was maintained immaculately. 99+% of its usage, I would run water, scrub with Pallo Coffeetool, double portafilter wiggle and plain water backflush, and wipe down the shower screen with paper towel FOR EACH USAGE. I performed a chemical backflush once a quarter, and turned it on only for when it was being used.
It comes with the drain-out kit included (and unopened), the handles for the top rack for ease of removal for refilling. I have only used filtered water, never tap.
The Duetto II comes with a bottomless La Marzocco portafilter as well as a regular La Marzocco portafilter with a backflush disk. The laminate cover has not been removed from the backside, as this machine was facing a wall.
The only defects are as follows: the rubber bottom of the feet have fallen off, and need supergluing. There is a glue stain on the E61 grouphead, from the "Caution" sticker that I did not remove before my first usage. I do not have chrome/stainless steel cleaner (am somewhat scared to hurt my baby), and leave it to the buyer to pretty her up. The blemish is NOT at all permanent.
It is in the same operating condition as the day that I bought it.
To sweeten the pot, I offer the following goodies:
Cafelat Large Tubbi Knockbox 58mm short 8-ball Reg Barber Tamper and cafelat 58mm tamper holder (unless you already have a satisfactory tamper, in which case I will keep it) VST basket, 18g 2 triple baskets 1 ridged, 1 ridgeless double baskets 2 La Marzocco ridged double baskets (57mm tamper) 1 La Marzocco single basket
The Alex Duetto II (with LM Portafilters) is being offered at $1,650
