Hello everyone,
I'm selling a Rancilio Epoca ST-1. Although it's a great machine, I've decided that I'm not interested in pursuing milk art anymore so I can't rationalize setting aside the counterspace for the Epoca any longer. The machine comes with both a single-spout and double-spout portafilter handle. The plug is a 20A plug, so you will want to have a modern 20A outlet to plug it into: http://i51.tinypic.com/2ylahy0.jpg However, I have read that the Epoca actually doesn't draw the full 20A and a simple 20A-15A plug converter can be used instead. YMMV.
Features:
Heat-Exchanger -- can successively pull espressos and steam milk without pause
Huge boiler -- 3.9L (for reference the Silvia is 0.35L), which means steam for days
Standard 58mm grouphead
Hot-water dispenser
As a commercial machine, the side panels come off very easily and allow access to internal components
The ST-1 model is the tank-equipped, vibe-pump model (which I believe can be converted to plumbed-in if you wish). As this is the previous model, it doesn't have the new 2-mode steam lever, but instead has a conventional steam knob.
Maintenance:
Replaced grouphead gasket less than 6 months ago
Fully cleaned the entire grouphead
Replaced some auxiliary gaskets that support the access panels
Replaced a missing steam arm spring
Regularly backflush with water
Occasionally (2x / month) backflush with detergent
Regularly recharge the water-softener unit (and only use filtered water for the tank)
