I'm selling my Oscar (plumbed-in) and MDX because I have since upgraded and could use the additional income.
The Oscar has seen better days in terms of aesthetics. It was manufactured in 2004, although it has a Sirai pressurestat. I'm the third owner of this HX machine (purchased in December of 2010), but have spent a whole lot of money and time ensuring that this machine runs very smoothly (acid bath of all the parts and cleaned out the old insulation while replacing with better/more durable insulation). I have backflushed after each use and used detergent for this process at least once weekly. I descaled once every six months and used a filter/softener with the machine. Recently, the Oscar was professionally serviced and a vacuum breaker was installed. This machine runs as if it were new. Included are the OEM single and double portafilters, along with after-market baskets.
The MDX has a few minor scratches, a crack in the hopper, and one of the screws for the bottom portion of the machine isn't fastening. It is otherwise in great shape. It has 65mm burrs and the doser sweeps itself incredibly clean. This grinder is very much the Super Jolly's equal in terms of grind quality, and I have enjoyed using its micrometrical adjustment mechanism far more than the Jolly's collar adjustment.
There you have it... This set-up is ideal for someone getting serious about espresso. I should note that I am unwilling to separate these items from one another.

This is a great deal for someone. As I have owned both the Oscar and a MDX, I can attest to the quality of this setup. I agree that the quality of the grind is equal with a SJ and I like the adjustment system better, when you add in that the build quality is also there it is a good deal. The prices are dead on and on the good deal for a buyer side. A referb Oscar at $500 is a very good price and a MDX at $300 is good market value too.
This is a great setup for someone wanting to upgrade from a starter setup on a good budget. It will cure upgradeitus for quite some time much more than likely.
However, the seller last logged in Sep 21, 2012 so it is doubtful that (s)he will see this.
