I'm looking for a well maintained entry level HX machine, akin to a Nuova Simonelli Oscar, Expobar Office, or Bezzera BZ07/BZ02. Similar prosumer machines are good too, as long as they are pour-over and don't weigh an absurd amount.
Edit: I've increased my budget! Now aiming for $500-$800 or so. At this price point, I'm hoping for a E61 grouphead, manometers, and good looks. Suggestions and advice are welcome!

Edit: Yes, I have capable grinders (Baratza Vario, Mazzer SJ, Tre Spade).
Edit: To clarify, $400 is a starting point, and I'm willing to go higher as needed.

Yeah, my machine works and is in very good condition for how old it is. Especially after being rebuilt. Used Oscar's sell for upwards of $600 or more, and who knows how well they were taken care of, if at all.

Point well taken. Don't get me wrong, your Ellimatic is on my short list, but I'd love to see what options are out there first. If someone beats me to it, my loss!
Yes, I've disassembled and rehabilitated machines before, but they've all been SBDU. HX is scary. An old HX with hard to find parts is scarier. I know that you've first hand experienced this exact frustration.

Let me rephrase myself. FIXING a HX machine is scary at times. Try, say, replacing the heating element mounted on the bottom of a vertically aligned boiler. Moreover, the possible points of failure are many compared to those of a SBDU.
Maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, a newer machine undoubtedly has its perks.
