Endo,

Where did you get the idea I said to drain through the side cover?  I think you mis-read my post.  To get to the [steam boiler's] drain you need to remove a side panel, correct?

Cheers!

At least on my machine (S1V1) there is no need to remove a side panel to drain the steam boiler.  Tip the machine one way or another to expose the underside and unscrew the knob at the bottom of the boiler.  It is really obvious once you look under as it is the only large knob visible.  Just be warned it is best to do this over a sink as all the water will come rushing out.  I will also second Endo in that anyone interested in working on the machine should consult S1cafe.com

Thanks to everyone for the input. I'm not afraid of pulling the panels off of the machine.. it's actually very easy to work on, so draining will not be a problem. I do know that there is a plug on top of the brew boiler which I have used when de-scaling, and will drain that just so the price of shipping goes down by a little bit.

Is this a good price for the machine? Let me know if I'm way off..

I've decided not to sell the machine at the moment. Thanks to everyone who provided input on the "for sale" thread.
