This is a fully-functioning, commercial-grade espresso machine -- a serious no-joke powerhouse. Easily up to the task of professional use, but possibly even more ideal as an educational machine for the espresso-obsessed home-barista. Solid red polyurethane side-panels come right off, no tools necessary, for access to the Sirai pressurestat and other innards. Massive 8-liter boiler is perhaps the largest boiler ever put inside a 1-group machine; it's an absolute steam-monster. Galvanized stainless steel frame resists rust & corrosion, dual-probe water-level system with an overheat-monitoring thermostat protects you & the heating element, and of course it's got a vacuum breaker valve, auto-fill, electronic pre-infusion & snazzy red/black styling for the knobs & 4 fully programmable buttons.
Package includes 2 portafilters (one with 1x/2x spouts, one bottomless), 2 tampers (a gorgeous convex hand-carved mahogany & a beautiful, heavy, flat, shiny all-stainless), 3 baskets (1x, 2x, 3x) and the blank basket for backflushing.
I recently replaced the group gasket, thoroughly soaked & cleaned the solenoid, shower screen & dispersion block, and have backflushed regularly. I'm selling solely because I work in a cafe and this is just more machine than I need in my home, so I'm downsizing. It was fun while it lasted, but with a baby on the way this summer, I have to free up the space.
LOCAL SALE ONLY. I'm sorry but this thing weighs over 100lbs, and I just don't have the wherewithal to deal with shipping it. In the interest of moving this quickly, I would consider delivering within an hour's drive or so, if need be.
Thanks!

Here's a pic of the accessories. It's worth nothing that the machine runs conveniently on 120V, i.e. fine to run on a home outlet.
This is a lotta machine for a reasonable price, folks. An adventurous step into the world of heat-exchangers, and an exciting learning opportunity. It was for me, anyway.

Howard, you deserve a bump (something I don't usually do and ask members not to do)...but adding the video inspires confidence. If I wasn't a leverhead....

I have to add a bump for Howard being Howard. He purchased a Livietta from me and was great to talk with. The trouble with buying big commercial machines used is the cost of service and repairs, they start high and add up fast. I'm inclined to trust Howard when he says that this is good to go (and the video is nice too), which makes this a really good deal.

Bump for price reduction.
Bear in mind, I'm willing to drive a ways to deliver this thing or meet someone half way. Also, bear in mind that we're now talkin' $50 less than a new Rancilio Silvia. This old Conti might not be winning any beauty pageants, but come on, a perfectly-working commercial HX for less than a dual-use single boiler? Work with me, people! :)

Sorry, Dockralph, and anyone else interested but not local enough. I have yet to exhaust all other options (CL, eBay, etc) so I'm just not ready to go through the hassle. I realize it's a tough sell for "pickup only," but it might be even tougher when one factors in the costs for packaging and shipping.
Anyone in New England or the tri-state area, however, should really consider making an offer! Paired with a Flojet, accumulator, and a couple 5-gal water jugs (one fresh, one for drainage), it's been a lot of fun.
To clarify, and to answer one question I have received -- this machine does require plumbing of some kind, be it via Flojet or a proper plumb-job. It is not a pourover. I'd have to say it's closer to "pro" than "prosumer." But since it's just a 1-group, now you can go big AND go home!
