... but I would certainly consider it first instead of giving up espresso completely... Most good roasters have one or two tasty decafs in their line-up.
I'll second that. If it is the caffeine that causes your problems, just get rid of the caffeine. Try a few decaf before you make an opinion. The variation in decaf is considerable. There are a few really, really good one out there. Best of luck.

I sure hope you can make decaf work, JD. We'd miss you and your many contributions over the years.
About half my own shots are with decaf, and I can strongly recommend the decaf versions of Redbird, Metropolis Red Line and Water Avenue El Toro, plus whatever decaf SOs Coava is roasting at the moment.
There are others (and we'll surely hear about them) but after many, many pounds of these four in particular, I can say honestly that each of them stands on its own as great coffee regardless of any "decaf" label or prejudice.

I found a great decaf at Dillanos (local coffee roastery) called "Mach Ninni". It makes great espresso and pourover. I haven't tried it in press pot, but I'm sure it'll be good.

I have one, a 2007 model, and am pretty happy with it (except for the leaks!). My sister-in-law is looking to get one -- thought I could pick this up for her if it is in good condition. What year is it? Any problems? thanks

JD, You should seriously consider roasting your own decaf. Not to the exclusion of any of the above recommendations, but if you'd like a steady supply of the best of the best -- home roasting is the way to go. Maybe the revenue from a piece or two of old equipment could go towards a Behmor. Open a whole new chapter in your coffee life!

I don't know the year it is, but it doesn't have any problems other than the usual leaky wand. All Dreams have a leaky wand. I upgraded to a different machine simply because I wanted a larger reservoir and larger drip tray. The Dream has a pretty small tray that you have to empty A LOT.
Oh, and this is NOT the Dream UP. It's the original Dream.
And I already got a Behmor roaster, but in Washington it's very cold and wet to be roasting outside, and the Behmor tends to stink up the house.

At the risk of hijacking the thread... I'll just reply that I agree, the Behmor can certainly fill a house with -- well, I prefer to think of it as "aroma" more than stink. At lighter roasts, though, (no darker than FC,) I find it's a sweet, bready aroma; not too disagreeable. It's only the two of us in a 1 bedroom apartment, though, and we both enjoy the spoils of the Behmor, one of us exclusively for decaf.
Espresso-wise I think if you're used to regular lungos, a rich, up-dosed decaf ristretto might well scratch the itch. I've also found the Aeropress to make a pretty robust concentrate for taller, Americano-style mugfulls.
