CoffeeGeek's Buy, Sell & Trade forum (BST) Rules, Version 1.21, May, 2009. These rules are a must read for anyone who wants to post in this forum. Violation of these rules will result in the deletion of your post, and a strike issued by one of the Forum's moderators. For more information on our strikes system, please review the Forum FAQ. For more explanation of these rules, please read the optional reading announcement.
You must have at least 10 posts on CoffeeGeek, or be a 'Senior Member' (3 months as a member of CoffeeGeek) to be able sell something in this forum. Absolutely no exceptions to this rule. 'Junior Members' with less than 10 posts (not including posts to this forum) will have their threads deleted and a strike issued to their account.
NEW You must complete all of the Listing Details fields located directly below the main text field. The text fields are Price, Location, First Name and Last Name. Also the Type of Sale must also be selected from the drop down menu (For Sale, For Trade, For Sale or Trade, or Wanted to Buy) below that menu the agreement box must also be selected (verifying that it is a private sale {see rule #4}). You must have a valid email address as your "public email' in order to post, or list a valid, unobstructed email in your for sale / trade / buy post.
No links to external sales can be made in new threads on this forum. This includes, but is not limited to, eBay and Craigslist.
Only private, consumer sales are allowed. No commercial posts at all. No business postings. No website domain name sales. No hobbyist tamper makers. No weekend fixer-upper cottage business posts. If you in any way profit on a regular, irregular, or occasional basis from the buying and selling of anything related to coffee, you cannot post an ad in this forum. This forum is provided as a courtesy to our membership for the times when they decide to upgrade their brewing equipment, and want to sell their existing machines to their fellow members.
No machines obtained from a coffee or restaurant or food service business are allowed to be listed here. It doesn't matter if the business is real or failed, or if you bought it at a bankruptcy auction, or are selling it for a friend who never got their business off the ground. If there are any ties to a commercial business, it cannot be listed here.
Only coffee and espresso related products may be listed here in the BST Forum. Any exceptions have to be pre-approved by a moderator.
If you sell the item you have listed, you must edit the original post's title to indicate it has been **Sold**.
Optional Rules
- post one or more pictures of your item for sale. You can post one photo per 'post' but are allowed to post followups with additional photos.
- post as much information as you can about the product being sold. More information means more chance of selling the product
We have another announcing thread in this forum that details more why these rules exist, and why the BST forum exists. Reading that thread is optional; this one is a must read for anyone participating in this specific forum.
Discussion about these rules is encouraged in this thread.

Hi Mark
While I totally agree with the 'Forum Rules' I am in a bit of a jam and need to sell my beloved machine in the next 3 weeks as work is transferring me to a new city and my new condo does not have the power required to hook up my Speedster so I have to sell. Yes, a sad moment for the wife and I! :(
Only had this excellent machine for 11 months (after I read your review I had to buy) and only used for about 5 (started to work out of town a lot - hence the move), she is perfect. I am willing to work out some kind of deal as I want to replace her with a 15AMP, self contained unit - I am looking to purchase a GS3 (non-paddle), once Speedy is sold/traded ....
I even have all the original packaging (crate and all) + water filter, softner, tamper ...
Do you know of anyone?
Any help would be appreciated - sorry about trying to get around the 3 month rule, but I am in a tight spot.

I believe you need 10 posts OR 3 months as a member. Either way try PMing Mark as he may not read this thread.
Overall you also have other options when listing, however I have had great experience both buying and selling on this board so I do think it's a great place.

Mark, I bought a new reneka portafilter for an associate in New Zeeland and then lost contact with him. It has been several months since I have heard from him and I figure I'm stuck with it. I don’t own a Reneka and so I have no use for it. I'd like to sell this at a loss… I’d just like to get something of what I paid for it back. It comes complete with handle, double basket, retaining spring and double spouts.
Can I post this to the buy/sell/trade forum? I don't want to post anything that is a violation of the rules.

The way I read them, the rules specify that it's violation if you're realizing a profit from the sale; if there's a loss or no profit, then you're okay. The problem is when people buy equipment on the cheap and resell it for a profit. Reselling something you bought but have not used is a bit of a violation of the spirit of the BS&T (users selling old equipment when upgrading), but not the rules so long as there's no profit. If we sense there's a profit involved, we have to step in to enforce the rules.

Just posting to see if this is would be allowed. I picked up and had serviced a used 04 Aurelia Plus 2 Group. Was planning on using this in my own specialty-coffee business but relocated and have another venture keeping me busy for a bit. Would it be possible to put it up for trade for a 1 Group machine/Grinder for my home? Just looking to get a somewhat even or fair trade.
