I'm new to manual espresso machines, and am looking to buy my first.  Used is ideal, as I have 200-300 in the budget at the moment.

So what I'm looking for is a fully manual lever espresso machine like the "La Pavoni" machines out there.  (not a spring assist machine)  An older machine is fine, as long as it is in good working condition.

I'm also in need of a good grinder, though that's secondary for the time being.

So, let me know what you have and what you're looking for price-wise.  (Bonus points if you're in Portland Oregon and you will let me come by to take a look.)

Thanks!
Chris

Spend your nut on a decent grinder, and get you one of those Aerobee Presses.  Then, when you have another three to five hundred bucks, start looking for a decent lever.  You may find the machine cheaper, but I would necessarily plan on that,  If you get the grinder first, and the machine second, you'll have great (near) espresso while you wait for your account to fill back up, if you buy the machine first and wait for a grinder, you'll have mediocre coffee at best, while you earn.
Either the lousy coffee will be a great motivator to save for the grinder, or the great coffee will provide the energy to go out and earn for the lever, but I'd opt for great coffee any day!  ; >

I'll bear that in mind - At the same time, I'm still looking for a good lever machine at a good price if anyone has one!

Cheers

Thanks for the email Jamhat - I'm considering the offer!

In the meanwhile, I'd love to get some offers from some other people as well.  Let me know if you have something!

Thanks!
