For sale: I'm offering my one group Rancilio L7 to CG members before listing it on eBay. I purchased the L7 in May 2005, cleaned it up, descaled it, replaced a few wires, insulated the boiler, and repainted (powdercoated) the panels. I used it very happily for a year, until my wife bought me a Vetrano. (What can I say? I'm a lucky guy. :-) It's been gathering dust in my basement since then.

This machine is the predecessor to the Rancilio S27. It's a very serious piece of espresso equipment: direct plumb, heat exchanger, volumetric dosing, Procon rotary pump, Sirai pressurestat, Gicar controller, 2.5L boiler, 15"H x 13"W x 18"D, ~75lbs. Although it was designed as a commercial machine, it fits easily under kitchen counters and runs off a standard 110V 15A circuit (1200W heating element).

The L7 is in excellent working condition; I fired it up this weekend just to be sure. The boiler pressure and pump pressure were exactly where I'd set them (1.2 bar and 9 bar). The L7 makes great espresso, and the large boiler produces plenty of steam, even for *$-sized beverages.

Cosmetically, the L7 is in good shape. The Rancilio logo paint on the drip tray is wearing off, and there's a few minor scratches. But it's very clean inside and out, and should last basically forever in a home setting.

The L7 comes with a commercial Rancilio portafilter, filter basket, and backflush disk. It must be plumbed in, or attached to a FloJet pump. The boiler autofill runs off input line pressure, not the pump (which is actually a nice thing). The drip tray is also designed to be plumbed, although you could easily plug the outlet and empty it manually.

Price: $600 (my cost) plus shipping. Shipping for the L7 should be approximately $50 in the continental US. I'll double box it and guarantee it arrives in good working condition.
Incidentally, that's the cost of a new Rancilio Silvia. This is twice the machine, by almost any measure. And there's a Website currently listing the L7 for the ridiculous price of $1895.
And that's not all! Order today and I'll throw in a set of Ginsu knives... Sorry, got carried away. :-)
But I will throw in a Bunn Espress ES-1G grinder for another $100 plus shipping. This is a rebadged Cunill Columbia, big brother to the popular Cunill Tranquilo. It's got new grinding burrs and is in excellent working condition, good cosmetic condition. I bought it as a decaf grinder when my wife was pregnant, now it also sits gathering dust. I've still got the original (huge) bean hopper if anyone is interested.
Please email me for more info (don't forget to remove the "removethis." from my address).

That is a screamin' deal!!! If I didn't already have my own plumbed-in shiny metal cube I would be all over this.... I hope the machine (and grinder) go to a good CG home :-))
