More important, does anyone have any experience with one? I have it on approval, but what works for a couple of days may be a piece of junk a month later. Anyone? Thanks, BGlassman

PS I know it uses ESE pods, and I share the general lack of affection for ESE pods, but other espresso options are not possible due to special personal circumstances.

I wish I could help, I have never seen one before. All that means is that I have never seen one, I have not seen every machine ever made so there are holes in my minds data base.
Who made it, is there a label on it anyplace? You know about pods so no comment there from me.

Thank you so much, in any case. Here is the singularly unhelpful label from the back. Samet is apparently a plastics company. I can find no record of their manufacturing espresso machines. I suppose this could be a prototype that never made it to market. The pod slides into this machine vertically. How common is that? If I took it apart, might I discover that the works were lifted from some other manufacturer? BG

I'm guessing this doesn't help you much anymore, coming a few months later ;) but doing a Google search for "Allegra pod machine" finds me this machine which looks to be what you have based on the picture. It's possible this is a white label unit that is sold under multiple brands, and you have an unbranded one there.
