Espresso parts is selling this as a general shower screen replacement for Gaggia machines.

http://www.espressoparts.com/G_200

I have the older model Gaggia Classic. Has anyone tried this shower screen and should I use it? The one that came with the machine had very fine holes. This ones has larger holes with a fine mesh underneath.

Can anyone provide the pros and cons of this type of shower screen and if it works well for the gaggia classic?

thanks

Looks like it would be hard to keep clean with the exposed screen.

That design is fitted as standard to my Reneka machine. Works very well.  Doesn't clog, and is easy to clean.

I think they're pretty well the standard design on quite a  number of commercial machines -

Can't comment on its use in a Gaggia Classic though.

sounds like this guy might not be the best bet. any other suggestions?

Additionally, I wanted a new spouted portafilter. Right now I use the bottomless thats on espressoparts.com.

I do have the original gaggia one with the chrome plating or whatever it is but am not really all entralled by it.

He probably noticed all the "nones" listed on your equipment profile.  Just a  guess.

What's wrong with the original Gaggia shower screen? I didn't think the Gaggia had any problems of even water dispersion.

I look primarily on espressoparts.com because of the free shipping. Is it on there because I didn't explicitly see it.

...And its not the best bet because no one can really comment on its use in the gaggia classic.
