I'm talking about general dosing standards! What do you use for you singles and double? And what kind off coffee are you using with each method? Are you doing around the 14g mark for a double or You looking at 20g plus and pulling a shorter "restretto" style shot?
I dose 17g for a double and 22g for a triple and pull 1 oz. shots. I can't remember the last time I pulled a single shot, i.e. I always pull at least 2 shots, and if alone, drink them together as a double cino or double espresso or (more commonly) a single espresso chased by a single short cino.

The standards you're talking about can only be guidelines, like the espresso definition of the Istituto Nazionale Espresso Italiano for example. To most people here on this forum, these will only serve as a starting point for further personal experiments on dose finding. What counts in the end is that you enjoy the taste in your cup no matter what parameters you used for brewing. Unless, of course, you want to serve certified Italian espresso (certificate of product conformity CSQA n. 214 of 24 September 1999, DTP 008 Ed. 1). :-J
Most CoffeeGeeks probably dose significantly higher than 14 g for a doppio.
