Hi,
I am in the beginning stage of putting a 2grp into my CRV to offer espresso at a farmers' market. Is Leveling legs necessary since it will be install in the back of the car? Can anyone with a mobile business give some suggestions? Thank you so much.
You'd want it level to maximize the capacity of the drip tray... not having the waste coffee start leaking out one side first, and also so that if you use spouted portafilters the coffee has a better chance of exiting both sides of the spout equally.
Ah, Thank you I didn't think of that. Does anyone know of leveling legs that can be adjusted easily on the fly to accomodate the different incline at different locations when park? I looked at some screwed in legs but it would be pretty hard to reach the ones in the back to adjust the leveling once the machine is in a car...
More important than the driptray is the boiler. If your boiler level probe is near the left side of your boiler and the left side is significantly higher than the right then your boiler will be overfilling, right? Just barely off level shouldn't be any more problematical than any of the 50% of machines I see every day with poorly adjusted boiler probes, and unless they're ridiculously out of place, the symptoms are barely noticable, but way out of level would be a problem. Also think about using a single-spout dispensor when out of level.
Or you could level the CRV itself when you park it. I used these blocks when I had a VW van and it got to the point where I could take one look at the campsite and guess correctly how many blocks I needed under which wheels.
Awesome.... Thank you so much for that link. I didn't know they have blocks like that out there for cars...this is definately a VERY way to go about it without crazy engineering...
