So, this tip thing just isn't working fast enough. I've only got $160 and its been almost 9 mos. I want to get a HG one, and at this rate it's gonna take me another 4 years!  Ugh!

Hi Ron, Your customers are lousy tippers, or the service isn't great.  Speak with the owner as you look in the mirror in the morning :)

Yeah, that must be it Fred! I think I'll speak with the lousy tippers, cause I know the service rocks and the drinks are good!

I'm just here to agree with everyone. Order of things.

  1. Get a machine, on your list the Gaggia Classic is the only real choice.
  2. Get a new grinder! I recommend the Baratza Vario (but people also swear by the Preciso).
  3. Change pressure on OPV valve to proper BARs
  4. Change steam wand to a Silvia one.
  5. Add PID to Gaggia Classic
  6. Bask in Espresso Glory.

Not to toot my own horn but i'm amazed how my setup beats out the Marzocco/robur setups at the local cafes. I know that preparation equal, I should get blown out of the water.
