Hey all,
After reading countless posts on PID's and what a difference they make to shot quality on SBDU's, I started looking into them. Cant afford one right now mind you, but just curious.
I know a lot of you have done the mod on the Gaggia Classic/Silvia, but have any of you done a how to video? I've scoured youtube and while I can see lost of example of post-mod shots, nothing on installing one. There is even a group of vids showing install for a Silvia, just no Classic.
I've read the install manual from Auber, and it looks pretty intimidating....And Im an active learner so, seeing it in action would be best.

While you do need to know which end of a screwdriver to hold, the process isn't really that hard. You are installing a few components and changing a few wires. A good guide like I got when I bought the Auber kit, makes it easy.
As your skill and abilities vary, the ease of the instal will vary but in the big picture, it isn't that hard,......... YMMV!

A basic PID is not that hard to install. It helps to have the wiring diagram for your machine. Depending on your boiler, if you want a full immersion probe it can get tricky with some machines, but most people just install a contact sensor on the outside of the boiler.
If you can find a kit that is designed for your machine, it reduces the whole operation to a cook book procedure.
