Looking for a reasonably inexpensive but solid espresso tamper. Bought one last week @ Sur La Table (OK, I know...) for about $10..got one use out of it before it collapsed.

You could, for example, take a look around at Orphan Espresso, SeattleCoffeeGear, Chris Coffee Service or WholeLatteLove. You'll find all different shapes, sizes, colors, and prices. Any metal made tamper will probably do. Choose the design you like and the size you need.

The links I provided are serious, and no offense has been intended. I'm pretty sure you'll find a decent tamper there for around $30 as Wayne suggested.

Speaking of which.. How about following your own orders given above? Maybe YOU should spend the three minutes actually telling us what you are looking for!!! Why don't you take the time to inform us what you want: What actual SIZE tamper are you looking for? What price you want to spend? Aluminum? Stainless? Wood handle? Plastic? Large or small hands? Tall or short handle?
If you don't know those answers, how can we help you? If you do know those answers, why do you need us? And if typing fifteen letters and one space, then hitting "ENTER" on Google Shopping is too much trouble for you to take, why should we care to help you? You were given a number of good sources in the thread, but that was evidently not enough. If you can't find a tamper that suits you there, how did you ever choose an espresso machine? A tamper is a personal choice, and asking us to shop for one for you is much the same as asking what underwear should you buy.
