I received the Ellimatic, and I'm fairly disappointed with it. It's loud, really really loud. It has heavy aging/potina (sp?) on the inside. There isn't any rust, but it's pretty ugly none-the-less. I thought about maybe reconditioning it, but I don't know how to. I saw a thread on some forum of a guy that soaked all of his parts in acid, then reassembled everything and it worked out.

Well I tried taking the thing apart, hoping I could soak the parts in some form of acid bath and remove a lot of the aging, but I can't seem to get a single pipe loose. They're tightened so tightly, and I think they might be rusted as well. This so far does not look like it's going to work.

I got most of it taken apart, except for the boiler, which is being impossible to remove. There's a pipe going to the pressure stat and is so tight I can't seem to budge it.
Now I got another problem, which is the wiring. I don't know where all the wires go, and they're not exactly color-coded correctly.
Oh well, this'll be an interesting venture, especially putting it back together. Anyone know where I can get schematics and wiring diagrams for the Ellimatic?

Woohoo! I did it. I got the boiler out. Finally. I took it apart, and surprisingly it's completely clean on the inside, which makes this whole venture sorta pointless. Oops.
Well, I can still soak everything in citric acid and make it look a little nicer, right? I don't know where to find citric acid powder/liquid, so should I just use a bottle of concentrated lemon or lime juice? Mix that with water or something?

Brew shop or I believe intimation lemon juice. Get some rust stop appliance paint while you are out. I am sure it will be a nice machine when you get it fixed up. Used has it's issues.

Hmm.. how much lemon juice do I mix with the water? Like 1 part lemon juice to 10 parts water or something? I need to make a bucket full of it to soak the boiler in.

Don't use lemon juice, you'll have a sticky mess. Citric acid powder isn't all that hard to find. You can find it at health food stores (might be sold as "sour salt"), places that sell beer brewing supplies, Amazon, Orphan Espresso, ebay.

I decided to just soak everything in my backflush soap. It did clean things up a bit, and deffinately removed built up coffee stains, but it didn't remove all the effects of aging. I'd like to just put the thing back together and see if it'll still work because I don't know how the wiring hooks up.
I got the boiler back together, but I don't remember which way the heating coil was put in there. It might be backwards. Does positive/negative matter with these, or does it all go one way no matter how the wires are connected?
I really don't want to end up killing myself with this thing if it's wired wrongly. That would suck. :P
