No insult - yup, I'm doing that. I think mine is just on really really tight, probably machine tighten (like when the car mechanic tightens the wheel nuts with a machine rather than hand tighten, and then months later you're on the road with a flat and you can't get the nuts off)...
I am a pretty strong man, so its not that I don't have the force to take it off. In fact, I end up breaking a lot of stuff because of excessive force. I dunno... I only have one screwdriver that is small enough to fit in the spout hole, but big enough for the required force....

I got mine from Chris's a few weeks ago with the commercial handle. It has a real heavy feel to it. I'm sure there is not much difference in performance, though.

Yes Chris, there is!
From my Miss Silvia review: Quote: "I use the Rancilio Commercial filter handle almost exclusively on my Miss Silvia espresso machine from 1st-line. The standard Silvia filter handle is 408 grams or 14.39oz vs 624 grams or 22.01oz,for the commercial handle. The commercial handle is 53% heavier,& both are of solid press forged marine grade chromed brass. Also, the handle is 7 inches long vs the standard 6 3/16 inch length, allowing for greater leverage to lock the handle into the grouphead. The greater thermal mass (weight), results in better temperature stability for excellent espresso crema shots!!"

You mean all those great shots are not from my mastery of the barista technique? It's the commercial handle? Well, ok, I knew it must of been something :) BTW - I read your review and it was final thing I needed to order Miss Silvia and I am so glad I did.
thx
cheers

That was with the stock 140°C, 284°F steam stat too, & I've had a 150°C, 302°F one in for some time now. The brew stat is the stock 110°C, 230°F one.The safety stat is 165°C, 329°F. If you thought Miss Silvia was good with the old stat, you should see the steam power now, awesome!, it's like a steam locomotive!!{:-D
