Subject: Which solenoid Coil for Rancilio Silvia?

Hi all

By my unqualified diagnosis from https://www.coffeeco.com.au/articles/repair.html I believe I need a new solenoid coil for my Silvia V1.

I wondered if I would be ok with parker coil ZB09: http://www.espresso-solutions.co.uk/details.asp?p=700179/22

Or whether I need to stick with parker coil KP07 as shown in my photo?

Thanks in advance :)
Ben

Those are going to fit different size valves. The internal diameters will be different.  It wouldn't be a good idea, even if they're only slightly different, to put the incorrect coil on the valve. It would be innefficient, potentially burn out quickly, and probably noisy.
I strongly suggest continuing the search for the KP07, sorry.

Try the United Kingdom search with your postal code on this:

No. The internal diameter of most of these things is the same, it's the external size that's different. The "commercial" Parker coils were used on the same valve for the Rancilio Betsy machines, but were replaced by a smaller coil in the Silvias. Drury (Covent Garden) should have the correct coils in the UK.

So the Parker ZB09 would work as well as the Parker KP07?
The reason I ask is because the ZB09 is a lot easier to come by and costs a lot less.
I did also read somewhere that somebody fixed their Silvia successfully with the ZB09.

I will call Drury next week too.

Thanks for your input :)

The ZB09 will work with the valve, but <may> not fit in the space provided in the machine. It varies with model.
