Hello everybody! Need some information on where I'd possibly be able to pick up a replacement pump for the Krups XP4020 Espresso Machine. Found one in very decent condition in a charity shop, paid next to nothing for it (£5!) and wondered if such things like the pump can be replaced. When I go to flush the machine the water doesn't make it through the PF into my cup. I'm guessing the pump is broken unless there's any other suggestions I can try to get the water flowing. I've made sure the water container is firmly in place a few times now thinking I hadn't pushed it down far enough. I understand replacing a pump on such an old machine might not be possible but for the price I paid for the machine I'd be happy to find any alternative to get it working again assuming it's the pump that's gone.
I would not assume it is the pump just yet.... It could be a clogged brew valve or something else in the plumbing path. Does the pump make a buzzing noise when on? Most machines use a common Ulka vibe pump, if it turns out you need to replace.
Does this machine have a plumbing valve on the steam/brew knob? Could be a problem in there too.
