I agree that this is the ridiculously expensive.  It is a price to pay for convenience though.   However, the Nespresso capsules are totally hackable.  

I bought the Maestria recently, burnt through the sample kit and came up with ways to reproduce the same "quality" product using store bought espresso ground coffee.

Personally I love Nespresso.  I use mine when I'm in a pinch.   I started my home espresso journey on it, and have upgraded considerably since... but still use mine regularly..  

As to the question at hand, if you make your own mocha with a Nespresso Arpeggio shot, it will certainly taste much better than Starbucks.  All you need is a bit of microwaved milk, chocolate powder and a cheap $2 frothing wand and you're set.

They are perfect for going away with the manual Bodum milk frother. Ive sustained my espresso craving with ours until I get to a shop or back
home on life support.
