During my vacations in Europe on last May I bought a La Pavoni Caffé Espresso CFL in Italy. After my return to Colombia, where I live, I bought a Baratza Preciso grinder and I started pulling some shots.
After a couple of days of frustrating tries, many problems appeared:
- When I turn on the machine, after a couple of seconds (5-10 sec) the machine start leaking through the steam wand. - When I pull a shot, water flows through the steam wand again with higher intensity. But the extraction is decent, altought the machine works near the 9 bars it seems that not produce high quality espresso/crema. - Some times there is water on the group set after I pulled a shot. - When I want to make some frothing milk for cappuccino, I turn on the Steam Switch and steam start going out before I open the steam tap knob. It seems that is something that is stoping the tap knob to close tight.
Last 2 weekend I've descaled the machine with Dezcal Espresso Machine Descaler with some improvements, but the leaking problems still exist.
In Colombia there is no official support for La Pavoni, so any help is welcome before I have to take the machine to USA for repairing. Thanks! Mauro.
