I recently purchased a second hand Gaggia Classic on ebay (mistake). Water pours out of all the seams when I try to use the pump for steaming or on the coffee spout. Before taking it in I wanted to check if this might be something I could fix easily or if the machine is truly damned. Any ideas and thanks in advance for your help.
Here is the parts diagram. Until you get it apart you will not know what you need, perhaps just gaskets and O-rings. If you understand the diagram and have the tools you can fix it and replace parts as needed. The Classic is fairly simple.
Everything can be repaired the question is how much are you paying and is it worth it to you to repair it. If you are handy with these things and you are paying like ten dollars for it, it may be a good value but if they want full going rate for it. Keep looking for a machine.
Edit sorry, I reread your post, you already have it. Again it comes to price and what you work out with the seller. You may want to see about returning it if they won't move on the price.

You need to look closely at the machine and see if you can determine the leak. The boiler can get pitted in area of the Group O-ring and not get a good seal there. OTOH, the machine could have had water in it and then a freeze and cracked the boiler. Fixes vary a lot. It still can be fairly simple gaskets/O-rings.
eBay/Paypal has a strict Buyer Protection Policy. If it was advertised as working, send it back and demand a full refund. Otherwise, Paypal will shaft them and you'll still get your money back. Walk away from this mess while you still can.
Could use more info too on where it's coming out. Any kind of leak at all will flood the upper section and have water come down all around the portafliter area. Could be a leak from any number of areas and even be related to shipping damage. Have to unscrew the top and take a look. The parts diagram linked is a good place to reference when you do so. We can help but you need to provide more details.
