I agree with Wayne! I can't see why anyone would recommend a non-modded Rocky for espresso. Of course, we all have different experiences, wants and needs, but to me the upgrade in adjustability and grind quality from a Rocky to a Mini-class (Macap M4) was HUGE!

I think the recommendation from Chris's coffee is good, you'll make tasty espresso so long as you use good beans. There's a learning curve but it's not bad. It sounds like your husband wants an automatic since he wants to program the shot time, but I say if you can't wait 30 seconds then forget it. You can tell by the color of the espresso whether you want to end it sooner (light color), or even later (stays dark) than 30 seconds (30 seconds being a general rule, I've had amazing shots that took 1min but that's unusual).

I seriously doubt the quality of an online company that sells the Cuadra for a lot more than one of the venders we know and love ($1799 vs $1095 at 1st Line) AND they say it is good to go in 15 minutes, we KNOW that isn't true.
