It's a Faema one group- I do not know the model. All the info he needs is likely on that plate on the front of the machine. I can guess that it is 220V, plumb only (no reservoir) and an internal rotary pump. In any case, whatever it is, tell your buddy to keep the box it comes in outside and put a rag, well soaked with roach spray, in the box with the machine, seal the box, and keep it that way for about a week. Just saying...   Then tell him to open the case up and have a look inside the machine before ever thinking about powering it up.

But for that price, I would probably have bought it as well.

Nope, not a Faema. Something about it seemed not stylish enough for a Faema. The name plate on the bottom also wasn't typical of Faema's style.

I think the name plate actually says "FAMA" which is an espresso machine vendor in New York City (link to FAMA's site).

One of their vendors is Brasilia. This machine appears to be one of the Brasilia Cappuccino machines. That machine has been redesigned numerous times, and this may be an early model. There is only one picture on the internet of this machine I could find. It's from the German coffee site Kaffee-Netz site (link to kaffee-netz).

Ok thanks, can we still buy parts for it? Looks like a nice compact machine, weighs 61 pounds

It could be dicey. I noticed this on the Espresso Parts website while I was looking around for this machine:

Many of the items in the categories below may no longer be available.
The Gino Rossi group, Brasilia included, officially declared bankruptcy in 2012, and have no employees to arrange shipping of, package, fabricate nor manufacture any of their inventory. Some limited aftermarket parts will still be available, but only for an indeterminate length of time. They have been liquidating their inventory for the past 9 months, and most of the product is now gone for good.

That said, I bet a fair number of the parts are interchangeable with other espresso machines.

He just bought it today, will have to wait until its here,
If bad comes to worse we'll strip it down and scrap it,
Im asuming it has a rotary pump since its 61 pounds.

Ok, lets not talk about this anymore, machine was junk, parts missing, no pump, will throw it in garbage, his money was refunded,
if anyone wants it they can have it if they're shipping, :)
