Posted Mon May 6, 2013, 7:12pm Subject: Gaggia Pure makes constant "boiling" noises...
After 5 months of use, my Gaggia Pure is making lots of "boiling" noises. The heater green lamp appears to always be ON and steam comes out of the main head when brewing coffee. Coffee not good: crema gone and a instead strange particles appear on the surface and sides on the cup. I think the machine is overheating. Not sure. Any clues? Need urgent help. Thanks!
The tube central in part 20 is the exit to the group. If you are getting steam from the group then your water level is likely low as when you finish steaming, and steam is at the top of the tank. That explains the boiling noise. You must have a leak, visible out of the tank, or back into tubing, or you are not filling after steaming and re-priming. Much of that will over heat the element as it heats water and water cools the element. Low water will not cool the element. You will need to see inside the case and find a leak or a backflow out one of the tubes to the tank.
