I have been kind of regretting selling the Epoca after a few days. It was a nice machine. So I was looking on Craigslist and saw a Astoria 2 group. I just got back from picking it up for $500. It's old and needs a deep cleaning but it works. This one is going down in the basement in my shop. Now I just have to tell my wife what I did with my day off... :)
This is gonna be amusing if this is the exact machine. There are two issues if it is. I'm going to need an electrician and how long does a 15 liter boiler take to warm up?

LOL, many here have something like this! I expect it to be a 220 v machine and the heater will be larger and it will heat faster than it would if it were to run on 110 v. Give it about an hour, like we always say, the water gets hot long before the rest of the machine does. My 2gp takes about 20 minutes for the vacuum breaker to close from start up but then the rest of the machine needs to catch up.

I just checked the id plate and its a 220 model. I took off most of the panels and its actually clean inside. There is no rust that I can see and all the wiring looks solid. As much as I like a good project, I'm glad it's clean. I'm going to take the heating element out tomorrow and see what the inside of the boiler looks like. Hopefully it isn't half full of crud. Hopefully there won't be any surprises but at least it looks easy to work on.
